Even though the menu structure is similar to most Microsoft products, the EasyEst Professional isn't as easy to use as other construction software we reviewed. Some of the pros and cons are that the interface is complicated and the application has a steep learning curve. However, once you learn to use this construction estimating software, you'll find that it has many of the features you'll need to create quick and accurate bids. Plus, this software integrates well with some software packages you may already be using.

EasyEst Professional features an integrated QuickBooks interface, so you can import and export estimated costs and other accounting data. It also is compatible with AutoCAD, DesignCad, Chief Architect and other CAD software. This ability to integrate with third-party software is impressive. It is not able to integrate with project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera, but it works well with Kidasa Milestones. EasyEst Professional does not have a mobile application at this time.

The EasyEst Measure-Master feature can be used with your current mouse or digitizer. This feature will measure lengths, areas and counts from plans. You can then transfer these measurements into any estimating, spreadsheet, job-cost or database application. To perform this function, simply spread out the plans, touch the corners or trace an irregular area, and then have the software place the result into your underlying application for quick and accurate results.

EasyEst estimating software also features job-cost tracking, which many estimating applications do not support. This construction estimating software lets you track costs after you've won the bid. Cost categories can be set up for a quick analysis of the current price by using the budgets feature of your estimating price book. You can then compare these costs to the original estimate.

The tutorial videos are helpful in demonstrating the correct usage of many of the screens. These movies span a variety of topics, from backing up your data to transferring a bid from one computer to another. However, some of the videos are repetitive, and the audio is inconsistent, which makes the videos difficult to watch.
